After winning National Tourism Awards in 1992 and 1993 for Tourism Retailing, Bungendore Wood Works Gallery became a high profile tourist destination for local, interstate, and international tourists. In recognition of this in 2003 the Gallery was awarded NSW and ACT Tourism Awards for Significant Tourist Attraction, and awarded again in 2004 in the ACT. In 2007 the Gallery won the ACT Tourism Award for Specialised Tourism Services and represented the ACT Region in this category at the National Tourism Awards held in Canberra on February 29, 2008.

The Gallery is ideally suited to exhibit world-class Australian wood craft and art and the visual arts across many mediums, and is widely known and respected for its standard of excellence. Participation in the tourism award process ensures that the Gallery maintains its high level of customer service and the representation of its designers, artists and makers of which there are over 200 who exhibit and produce work for sale in the Gallery.

In 1998 the Gallery decided to extend its role to become a presenter of the fine arts and over the past 10 years has become one of the region’s widely recognised presenters of the visual arts.

Tourism Accreditation PresentationTourism Accreditation PresentationIn 2003 the Gallery became the first in the Capital Country Region to receive Tourism Accreditation following the substantial accreditation process and retains this important accreditation status. The certificate was presented to Gallery Artistic Director David Mac Laren by Ross McDiarmid, CEO. ACT Tourism.

Bungendore Wood Works Gallery and its staff strive for excellence while maintaining a friendly and consultative attitude between staff and clients who we continually enjoy as one in the same. Welcome to our extended family.
